Has fake news media become America’s enemy?

I suppose it’s axiomatic to say that political parties must find fault with each other. Republicans are diametrically in opposition to Democrats and vice-versa. Therefore, even if the party in power is doing a fabulous job for the citizens of our country, it seems as though the party out of power must do everything possible to scuttle their success. I don’t know if that’s the way the Founding Fathers intended it to be, but I guess it keeps us from becoming an autocratic system with all the power invested in one entity. The FF also provided a Bill of Rights that gives freedom to the press. I sincerely doubt that they envisioned a press that would transform into an enemy of the country that provided that freedom. Nevertheless, that appears to be exactly what has happened. The leftwing media, described accurately by President Trump as “fake news,” has become another opposition party with one goal; to take down a duly elected Chief Executive. Conversely, when Obama was in the White House, that coterie of kneejerk liberals, masquerading as journalists, would genuflect in slobbering obeisance whenever he graced them with his presence. The first black president could do no wrong in their eyes because he’s not only a socialist, he’s…., well…, he’s black. That made him invulnerable to criticism because few people wanted to be labeled racists if they dared to disagree with him on an issue. It’s my guess that the same would’ve occurred if Hillary Clinton had been elected, except that her critics would be called “sexists.” Instead, to the excruciating horror of the left, another white guy got in by an electoral landslide. OMG, they thought, how are we going to continue on the path toward socialism when voters put the quintessential capitalist in power? Those liberal media types, whose delicate little snowflake feelings got hurt when the Donald told the truth about their bias, are condescending enough to believe that “they,” not the voters, know what’s best for this country. Hence, with the rebellious passion of teenagers sassing their parents, these obnoxious transmitters of lies, distortions and ambiguity have been attempting a coup d’état in order to topple a government that they don’t like. So, let’s look at what they don’t like. The economy is booming; the stock market is breaking records every day; and unemployment is lower than it has been in decades. Major companies are repatriating billions of dollars back into the USA. Apple alone will be making a direct contribution to our economy of more than $350 billion over the next 5 years. Regulations that have depressed commerce for decades have been lifted and the Keystone Pipeline is now open and gushing with oil to the tune of over 500,000 barrels a day. The military is building up again, after 8 years of being weakened by the guy who traveled the world (on the taxpayers’ dime) telling foreign governments that America was an arrogant nation and certainly “not exceptional.” All indications are that ISIS is in retreat and North Korea is trying to make nice with its southern relatives. I could go on, but, I think it’s evident that Trump is making good on his promise to make America great again. So, the question is; what is it that Democrats and their leftist counterparts in the media don’t like? Or, could it be that my question is rhetorical because our country’s success is a result of their failure to stifle it? If you watch a White House Press Briefing you wonder if those reporters are on the side of the American people, or do they represent some sort of shadow government which they hope will come to power if the Trump Administration can be worn down by lies and innuendo. They sit on the edge of their seats like hungry jackals, spittle forming on the corners of their mouths, as they sneer at the Press Secretary and prepare to attack. “Do you think the President is a racist?” says one smirking reporter, sucking on the end of his pencil. Sarah Huckabee (my hero) handles the insolent twerp with a deft quip that elicits a begrudging chuckle from his comrades. The fact is that the mainstream media, which still controls the majority of info that’s absorbed by the masses, has become a propaganda machine which seeks to destroy our President by any means necessary. Consequently, the freedom given to them by the founders to keep an eye on government and report to the people when abuse of power occurs, has morphed into an abuse of media power that needs to be corrected by the government. Thus, when the President refers to them as “fake news” it’s his way of trying to limit that abuse.
